Our current focus in this area

The only pre-seed accelerator programme in the cybersecurity ecosystem, CyberASAP (Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme) plays a unique and vital role in supporting cyber security innovation and commercialisation.

Immerse UK brings together industry, researchers and research organisations, the public sector, entrepreneurs, innovators and end-users to support the UK in becoming the global leader in applications of immersive technologies: high-end visualisation, virtual, mixed, and augmented reality, haptics and other sensory interfaces with data.

5G is more than just another upgrade in the mobile telecoms landscape. 5G promises to become the underpinning technology for the entire global digital economy, capable of generating trillions of pounds of value.

Services – including legal, accounting and insurance – account for almost 80% of the UK economy. Financial and professional services alone are worth £190 billion and employ 2.2 million, so it is vital that we ensure these are primed for the future.

Computing helps produce digital assets and software activity. These can be used by varied sectors such as transport, infrastructure, farming and life sciences.

The National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) definition of cyber security’s core function is to protect the devices we all use, and the services we access from theft or damage and preventing unauthorised access to personal information we store on these devices, and online.

The Digital Economy covers all business activity that’s enabled by digital technologies. This includes a wide range of activity across any sectors.

The digital health and care sub-sector is characterised by a large number of small companies developing technology across the health spectrum.

Digital manufacturing promises improved productivity, sustainability, resilience and the creation of high value jobs. The industrial digital technology (IDT) innovator seeking to make an impact in the physical world stands to benefit from the transformation of UK manufacturing.

What makes our modern lives relatively easy, interconnected and seamless is this seldom thought of, but very vital soft infrastructure – the electromagnetic spectrum.

IoT (Internet of Things) is all things data. It includes generating, catching, moving, processing data for insights/actions in increasingly automated and connected contexts. These technologies can unlock powerful business capabilities. IoT technology is often behind the words ‘smart’ or ‘digitisation’. It’s present in any and all sectors that use data associated with non-human assets (things).
