Industrial Maths
Innovate UK KTN’s Industrial Maths team harnesses the power of mathematics to meet the needs of business, government and not-for-profit organisations, helping a wide range of sectors express problems and challenges in an accessible way. We also facilitate new partnerships with an extensive network of mathematical science practitioners and diverse institutions across the UK.

We provide support by facilitating access to academic researchers from across the country, signposting the relevant funding calls and initiatives, and tailoring knowledge exchange mechanisms (such as study groups with industry) to rapidly triage potential challenges.
Given the pervasive nature of the mathematical sciences, we welcome any business, government department, or not-for-profit organisation that has challenges that may be solved by maths. These could relate to the acquisition of support in: optimisation; physical modelling; uncertainty quantification; operational research; statistics (and more). Historically, we have supported organisations in the agri-food, high value manufacturing, and energy systems sectors, and we are always keen to broaden this growing portfolio.
