Raven Science applies technologies to the problem of online extremism and aims to safeguard the public against online harms in general. Its Raven software uses machine learning to locate, classify, and analyse extremist videos on social media. Its iReportIt app for Android and iOS phones enables the public to anonymously report online extremist content to law enforcement.
Raven won the 2019 Mayor of London’s Civic Innovation Challenge which provided funding to develop the iReportIt app. The app was launched on the Google Play and Apple App Store (UK only) on 24 February 2021. The Met Police are funding the maintenance and feature upgrades.
Previously exhibited as part of DCMS Innovation Zone at Cyber UK 2019 and received notable mention at Cyber Den.
