Preview the latest Cyber innovations at CyberASAP Demo Day

Posted on: 23/01/2023

Demo Day is where innovative cyber academic teams present their cyber innovations to an audience of industry experts and potential investors. The event, taking place on 22nd February, will showcase the latest in cyber innovation from a record fifteen academic teams.

The CyberASAP programme is designed to support the development of cyber security solutions from academic teams by providing mentorship and training to help commercialise their ideas and create an impact in the open market. Demo Day provides a platform for these teams to pitch and present their Proof of Concept demonstrators to an audience of industry experts and potential investors who will get to preview the latest crop of cyber innovations, carefully curated and developed by the CyberASAP team.

New for Demo Day 2023, this is an opportunity to network with some featured spinout companies from previous CyberASAP cohorts.

Come and meet some dynamic startups looking for investment partners/commercial collaborations including Fact360, MaCRA, True Deploy and Zorb.

Over the last 10 months, CyberASAP’s Year 6 cohort has been developing commercial propositions for their highly-promising cyber innovations, featuring a diverse range of projects, including solutions for secure communications, data protection, and threat detection. As a result of the process, 15 teams were selected by independent assessors to complete the final stage of CyberASAP. We’re delighted that five out of a record fifteen are funded by the Security of Digital Technology at the Periphery (SDTaP) initiative. The UKRI-funded SDTaP competition provides funding to business-led demonstrators addressing cyber security challenges in the Internet of Things.

Previous alumni of the programme have created successful startups, been acquired, are spinning out or have licensed their technologies. Between them, they have raised more than £17m in further funding to progress their innovations. Find out more about the impact of the programme here.

In this year’s cohort, and between now and Demo Day we’ll be running a Cyber Innovation Series 2022/23 – a short series of previews focusing on each of the teams, the people behind them, and the innovation they’ve developed.
