CyberASAP Announces Final 10 Academic Teams with Start-up Potential
The Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP) has just announced the outcome of the final selection stage of this year’s programme. The chosen academic teams, all of which are looking to create commercial impact from their cyber security innovations, will now develop their Proofs of Concept ready to present to industry at a Demo Day on 17th February 2022. 24 University teams from all over the UK started the fifth year of CyberASAP in April 2021. Now the final 10 selected to progress to Phase 2 will be put through their paces as the KTN team and its network of mentors provide a unique package of training and support that helps academic teams export their research from the lab out to the market.
From cryptocurrency to protecting children from online harm, from AI in policing to sharing confidential data sets, the diversity of projects shortlisted for the final stage of CyberASAP reflects the breadth of cyber security’s impact on all of our lives.

These teams, selected by independent assessors, have had to demonstrate the commercial potential of their innovation – and their capacity to exploit it. Now they can start using the tools, funding and support provided by the programme to fully explore and develop the market opportunities of their cyber security offering. In a sector as vital as this, it is essential to have a strong pipeline of new products and services that mitigate the risks of our highly connected world – and it’s gratifying to play a role in making that happen”.
