The Energy Catalyst’s launch and brokerage event that took place in South Africa on 27 June saw energy sectors come together to develop sustainable energy solutions, thus improving the lives of South Africans.

In the sixth episode of the Geo for Earth podcast, our guest speakers explore the importance of using data in mapping our urban environment to help fight climate change, and have a lively discussion on the collection and use of data in a trusting manner.

This session gave attendees a greater understanding of business models and how to develop the most effective type for their product/service. Experts including Eric Kihlstrom, Chair of Centaur Robotics shared their valuable insights.

Led by Dr Elaine Douglas (Research Programme Manager, UKRI SBDRP) and Dr Aideen Young (Senior Evidence Manager at Centre for Ageing Better) the session was an introduction to trustworthy and easily accessible evidence data, including what it is, where it is, and how to use it practically.

Centre for Ageing Better’s Communication team shared the learning and resources included in their latest toolkit: Challenging Ageism: A guide to talking about ageing and older age.

The session also included presentations from two Healthy Ageing Challenge projects sharing their experiences of ageism in their work.

At this workshop, Julia Glenn – Design Innovation Lead in UKRI’s Healthy Ageing Challenge team – shared easy and practical resources to apply data to real scenarios and people before a commercial investment is made.

This event, in partnership with Zinc, was for Community of Practice members exploring options for further funding and investment opportunities. 

On 9 November, Innovate UK KTN Net Zero Places Innovation Network in partnership with the Net Zero Hubs (NZH) will host the last episode of the webinar series ‘Heating for Net Zero’ projecting into the future of heating and exploring ideas that are being developed to challenge the current solutions.

On 26 October, Innovate UK KTN Net Zero Places Innovation Network in partnership with the Net Zero Hubs (NZH) will host the sixth episode of the webinar series ‘Heating for Net Zero’ focusing on the power network, exploring how the network functions and how to work with the network operator to realise a project.

On 12 October, Innovate UK KTN Net Zero Places Innovation Network in partnership with the Net Zero Hubs (NZH) will host the fifth episode of the webinar series ‘Heating for Net Zero’ focusing on Technical modelling and exploring the value of modelling at all stages of design and retrofitting buildings.
