Water
The water sector impacts every person, business and industry type in the UK. We turn on the tap and expect clean water. We rely on the water infrastructure, the pipes, the sewerage treatment, the rapid fixing of leaks. And we expect environmental issues to be a cornerstone of the industry and its operations.
Water is a key part of our infrastructure and a key provider of and user of energy. It is hugely reliant on and part of our natural environment, and innovation plays a major role in the industry’s ability to adapt to climate change, population growth and the development of the sector.
Innovate UK Business Connect is heavily involved in innovation in the treatment, distribution and use of water, playing an active role in the water innovation ‘ecosystem’ and sitting on a number of steering groups for the UK Water Partnership and the UK Research and Innovation Water Interest Group.
Perhaps you work in the water and wastewater sector already and need help or funding to develop a new product or service? You might work in a different arena but believe you have technology that’s applicable to the water utility, or large water-using, industries. Maybe you have challenges related to water or the aquatic environment and want support in finding solutions beyond the usual supply chain?
Our Head of Infrastructure, Chris Bagley, is well-connected within the water innovation community and can provide links to information, end users and other key players and networks. He has links to other sectors within Innovate UK Business Connect that could play a key part in helping your development.
