Former Royal Marines commando Louis Newman is passionate about travelling and always tries to take in as much culture as possible. He visits prominent locations, tastes local cuisine and learns about the history of the area. However, he’s found that undertaking tourist activities isn’t always simple.

On a recent trip, he tried to complete a walking tour but ran into several issues. Tours were booked out, they lacked accessibility or they didn’t fit into his time schedule. One option would be to arrange a custom tour, but these come at a significant cost.

Louis came up with the idea for Send Lesson, an app that offers customisable self-guided video walking tours. Users are able to find nearby locational videos, purchase complete tours involving these videos and navigate between each video location – all within the same app. It also allows content creators to monetise their guides and share their adventures.

Send Lesson is starting in London, but Louis hopes to expand across the UK and into Europe.

“I was honoured to be selected as a Young Innovator and I’m looking forward to having a platform I can use to share Send Lesson with the world,” Louis adds.
