Developing machine learning algorithms to preserve privacy online

Alberto Morón Hernández has been working as a software engineer for the past five years. During that time, he became interested in how the responsible use of technology could unlock solutions to human and social issues.

He founded Dellista, which develops privacy-preserving machine learning algorithms. With a flood of personally identifiable information (PII) available for corporations to exploit, Alberto wanted to create a technological solution that was convenient, accessible and commercially viable, and which kept people’s data private.

Alberto has developed a proof of concept and is now working on integrating his technology with scalable cloud infrastructure. This will enable him to turn it into a real product that he can put in the hands of users and pre-seed investors.

Alberto hopes the Young Innovators programme will help him to collect a diverse dataset which will improve the accuracy of his algorithms.

“This will enable me to roll out Dellista as an app in the UK. The feedback from UK customers, combined with the performance of the infrastructure, will also help guide the subsequent launch of Dellista in select European countries,” says Alberto.
