Genetics and genomics can play crucial roles in combatting many of these issues. Genetics/genomic technologies offer opportunities to develop climate-resilient aquaculture stocks with superior productivity and better welfare.
The goal of this project will be to develop genomic resources for African catfish that can be utilised in a cost-effective manner for genetic resource management and improving performance of culture stock through breeding programmes.
