European Research Council
The European Research Council encourages the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research. This is across all fields, based on scientific excellence. If you are a researcher, find out which ERC grant is right for you. If you are in industry, find out how you can benefit from getting involved.
Introduction to European Research Council
ERC grants are awarded through open competition to projects headed by starting and established researchers, irrespective of their origins, who are working or moving to work in Europe.
The sole criterion for selection is scientific excellence. The aim here is to recognise the best ideas and confer status and visibility on the best brains in Europe, while also attracting talent from abroad.
The UK Research Office (UKRO) Brussels is the ERC UK National Contact Point. Further information on the programme and how to apply can be found on the UKRO website. Contact the team for free, impartial advice and to sign up for regular events on how to apply for calls.
Follow UKRO on Twitter and LinkedIn for ERC programme news and events.
