Megan Phoenix

As a Knowledge Transfer Manager for Investor Communities – Future Economy in the Strategic Development directorate, I support Innovate UK Business Connect to engage more widely with private investors for the ultimate goal of increasing private investment into UK innovation.

Before joining Innovate UK Business Connect, I worked at an accelerator supporting early-stage technology startups by providing pre-seed and seed funding as well as non-financial support to mission-driven founders. I gained a deep understanding of the typical profile of opportunities that private finance providers prefer to consider and ultimately invest in. My role involved sourcing and screening applicants for investment, supporting the deal execution process through the construction of investment memos and due diligence, as well as helping portfolio startups to execute their growth plans and commercial strategies.

With experience in project management, I have built strong relationships with organisations close to the startup ecosystem to support deal flow and maximise networking opportunities. I have acted as a representative at British Business Bank roundtables and delivered Bett webinars on behalf of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.
