Urgent Call for Startups and Small Businesses to Combat COVID-19
A share of €164M is available for Fast-Track EU Funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC).
The current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has been declared by WHO as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern according to the International Health Regulation. The European Commission is calling for startups and SMEs with technologies and innovations that could help in treating, testing, monitoring or other aspects of the Coronavirus outbreak to apply urgently to the next round of funding from the European Innovation Council.

Deadline to apply is this Wednesday, 18 March 2020, 17:00 (Brussels time).
This call is “bottom up”. This means that the thematic priorities are not predefined. Applicants with Coronavirus relevant innovations will be evaluated in the same way as any other applicant.

Note, while UK SMEs can continue to apply for the grant-only funding route for EIC Accelerator projects, access to new blended finance (i.e. equity alongside grant) is no longer possible. More guidance here.
