KTP Best of the Best Awards 2019 - special commemorative brochure released

Posted on: 01/08/2019

A special KTN Best of the Best Awards 2019 commemorative brochure is now available for download.

In order to participate in a KTP, a project has to fulfil exacting criteria. At the end of every Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) there is a careful assessment of the project including how it measured up to its objectives; the extent to which each of the three collaborators (company, knowledge base and Associate) benefited; and of the impacts of the project – both medium and long term. Each project is given a grade, and the very best of the projects are eligible for the KTP Best of the Best Awards which returned this year after a brief hiatus.

Competition was tough across all categories for this year’s awards, and the entries reflected the huge variety of projects, businesses and ideas transformed by the unique collaborative enterprise that is KTP. Click here to download the commemorative brochure with the list of winners!

Addressing the invited guests at the Awards ceremony, Innovate UK Executive Chair, Dr Ian Campbell, spoke of the need ‚Äúto champion the benefits of working in partnerships across academia and business – identifying innovative solutions that help businesses grow and scale. Through these partnerships the UK can continue to take advantage of major global changes and improve people’s lives‚Äù.

The awards were a celebration, not just of the success of the projects shortlisted, but also of the power of collaboration to achieve lasting impact for people, projects and the wider economy. Find out more about the winners and finalists of this year’s Awards here.

KTP aims to help businesses improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills held within the UK knowledge base. The Knowledge Transfer Network delivers the KTP programme for Innovate UK, funded by UK Research and Innovation as part of the government’s Industrial Strategy.

Further information about the KTP programme can be found here, and applications for funding are open all year round.
