The Sustainability Association, launched by the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) at the University of Cambridge and supported by KTN’s Manufacturing team, is a membership group focused on ensuring manufacturing leaders can drive sustainable change in their organisations.

The Sustainability Association exists to help leaders overcome existing barriers and accelerate sustainable change within the manufacturing industry. This powerful network will help members to collaborate and learn more about sustainable manufacturing processes to build a more resilient, competitive, successful, environmentally efficient future.

Professor Steve Evans, Director of Research in Industrial Sustainability at the IfM, says “There are immediate things manufacturing organisations can implement right now to reduce their impact as well as positioning themselves for future opportunities. We’re launching the Sustainability Association as we’ve worked with hundreds of organisations over the last decade and built tools, approaches and strategies that are proven to support organisations in improving sustainability and improving profits – two things which can go hand-in-hand.”

Ben Peace, Head of Manufacturing at KTN, adds “KTN believes that initiatives such as The Sustainability Association from the IfM are critically important for creating a strong community of businesses that are motivated towards achieving a more resilient and sustainable future.”

By signing up to the Sustainability Association, members get access to a series of virtual and in-person events throughout the year, with expert speakers, workshops, presentations from start-ups and networking sessions providing a platform for organisations to reach new levels of sustainability. KTN will also be getting involved and providing their expertise to ensure that members are equipped with a range of specialist advice.

Upcoming Sustainability Association Webinar

The Sustainability Association is hosting an ‘Emerging stronger: Accelerating sustainable manufacturing post COVID-19’ launch webinar on the 14 July at 10am which is open to anyone interested in sustainable manufacturing, so make sure to register and attend.
