Precision Medicine

Precision Medicine aims to target the right drug, to the right patient, at the right dose and the right time. Precision Medicine is a cutting-edge field of innovation that improves disease outcome by tailoring treatments to characteristics of patients.

Precision Medicine improves the accuracy of diagnosis and prognosis, refines the selection of treatment, and increases therapeutic efficacy whilst decreasing the likelihood of side-effects. This approach triangulates between lots of data points: genes, proteins, other biomarkers, general health and phenotypic data, to place patients into stratified populations.

Precision medicine is an exciting and burgeoning area of health research that presents both economic and health benefits. The Health Team at Innovate UK KTN supports companies of various sizes, working across the sub-sectors of Precision Medicine. Precision Medicine is a particularly diverse and interdisciplinary area, and fruitful collaboration is crucial to innovation and enterprise. Innovate UK KTN is uniquely placed at the crossroads of multiple stakeholders in different sectors and facilitates key partnerships to advance this area of innovation forwards.
