Women in Enabling Technologies
Networking workshop that aims to support and promote the presence of women in enabling technologies and discuss barriers and solutions towards a more gender-balanced landscape.
Are you a woman working in enabling technologies such as electronics, sensors, photonics, RF and microwave or acoustics? Join our workshop and explore why we are not seeing more women in these sectors.
Enabling technology is helping to change our world, but how will the sector meet the needs of a diverse population if it is being shaped by a small section of society?
Gender imbalance in the technology industry is a major issue, with only 5% of leadership positions held by women, and women less likely to consider a technology career than men. (Pwc, Women in Tech Report).
Drawing on participants’ experience and the barriers that they have faced, and asking “What could be the short and long-term solutions?”, we aim to work together to help tackle the issues raised, and help develop KTN’s support for Women in Enabling Technologies.
In this context and in line with our national diversity and inclusion guidelines, this networking workshop aims to support and promote the presence of women in enabling technologies and discuss barriers and solutions towards a more gender-balanced landscape.
