About the event

This event is part of a series of events delivered by the Department for Transport and Innovate UK’s Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrations, a £200m programme deploying hundreds of zero emission HGVs and infrastructure to support non-zero emission truck phase out by 2035/40.

We will be discussing learnings from real world deployments that have already happened across the UK and internationally. In the expression of interest, attendees will be asked to consider workshop topics of interest, which may include:

  • Infrastructure placement – how to plan placement around operations, different types of operations, shared access, depots etc.
  • Business cases – justifying ZE vs diesel TCO in a constrained business environment.
  • User perspective – operational side of deploying ZE vehicles – safety, training etc.
  • Network operators – Grid connection issues and location issues, planning permission for sites.

Who should attend?

The objective of this workshop is to inform future strategy and accelerate ongoing work to decarbonise HGVs through structured networking. This event is aimed at:

  • Hauliers and operators
  • Infrastructure providers
  • DNOs
  • OEMs
  • Technology providers (digital and hardware)
  • Financiers
  • Public sector stakeholders
