Innovate UK KTN in partnership with Early Metrics is hosting an Insurtech matchmaking event on Tuesday 23rd May, by invitation only.
As stated in the AI for Services 2022 report, funding in the UK Insurtech sector has experienced steep growth in recent years. The sharpest increase in 2021 saw a yearly funding amount increased by 176% to over £582 million. Moreover, the UK is home to some of the top Insurtech companies in the world – Bought By Many, Zego, Tractable and Marshmallow leading the way with unicorn status.
About the event
Innovate UK KTN in partnership with Early Metrics is hosting an Insurtech matchmaking event on Tuesday 23rd May 2023. This dedicated session will offer innovative start-ups and SMEs the opportunity to meet major insurance leading firms to help them solve their R&D challenges. Confirmed participants include Axa & Axa XL, Brit, Bupa, and Lloyds.
The event will take place from 16:00 – 19:30 on Tuesday 23rd May in Central London. Up to 20 of the most innovative companies who apply to attend will be invited to meet with established insurance firms for an evening of facilitated networking.

Applicants will be selected based on their level of innovation and ability to solve the partners’ challenges (available below).

The event format has been designed to connect entrepreneurs with potential partners and collaborators through a series of rapid ‘speed dating’ style sessions, which may lead to successful commercial relationships. Digital innovator attendees will rotate around the room with strictly seven minutes within which to have a one-to-one conversation or pitch to each industry representative. There will be refreshments throughout the afternoon evening with industry, academic experts and special guests joining the event.

Bupa, a global Health and Wellbeing company, is looking to make its digital customer journeys caring and empathetic. For this event, their focus is on their health insurance propositions. Bupa is interested in opportunities to make their customers feel cared for/more cared for as they navigate and utilise the digital platforms and services on offer. They’re looking to make the level of care and empathy felt through their digital journeys comparable to the care customers get through speaking to an agent.
