Overview
Embark on a journey of innovation and imagination as the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network proudly presents the eagerly anticipated second edition of its groundbreaking competition, the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Awards. This year we invited UK university students from any degree program to push the boundaries of possibility and showcase their pioneering ideas, experiences, and projects to our esteemed panel of experts from the XR industry.
What’s new?
Building upon the success of last year, our awards program has evolved to embrace even more talent and creativity. We expanded the Undergraduate-Postgraduate Competition and piloted a new opportunity, the Career Breakout Showcase, which was open to anyone new to the XR industry who was educated outside of traditional university education.
Our Vision
The awards serve as a catalyst, bridging the realms of academia and industry. We aim to foster a culture of innovation, problem-solving, and cross-sector collaboration. By nurturing emerging talent and facilitating connections, we strive to propel the immersive tech landscape forward.
About the event
Mark your calendars for the prestigious Innovate UK Immersive Tech Awards Reception, set amidst the inspiring backdrop of Imagination’s London HQ. Experience the culmination of creativity as we unveil the work of our 10 finalists and announce the winners across 5 dynamic categories:

- Sensory Experience
- Technical Innovation
- UX & UI Design
- Best Overall Experience
In addition to the category prizes, we will also be announcing the winners of the four grand prize paid internships with our industry partners Arup, Soluis, Storylab at Anglia Ruskin University, Wales Millennium Centre, and ARCADE.
Finally, you will be able to meet with participants selected for the Career Breakout Showcase and try demos of their work.
