Addressing the data gap

Despite the high environmental targets set by many global companies, there exists a notable deficiency in quality Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data for material supply chains and emerging energy technologies. Minviro effectively bridges this data gap, facilitating significant advances in sustainability.

Additionally, as regulatory pressures mount, they adeptly streamline compliance across diverse standards, guaranteeing reliable and straightforward regulatory alignment.

Modern technology, minimal environmental impact

Minviro empowers companies in the raw materials and energy transition sectors to exceed their sustainability goals, across sectors such as Mining & Materials, Batteries & EV, Motors & Mobility and Photovoltaics.

Leveraging sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), chemistry, and engineering expertise, they offer an integrated suite of services, from expert consulting, advanced software solutions, comprehensive data, and certification processes, all ensuring compliance with evolving global regulations.

As environmental impact assessment and management leaders, their holistic approach propels their clients towards significant sustainability achievements.

How the ICURe programme supported

Minviro Participated in the ICURe Programme in 2019 and spun out successfully in 2020 after receiving initial Value Proposition and Business Model Training and a further 12-weeks undertaking an in-depth market discovery journey and then finally successfully applied for Innovate UK’s ICURe grant funding. Using this initial capital injection, it has gone from strength to strength.

The ICURe Programme and Innovate UK’s follow-on funding allowed us to consider what a successful business model should look like for our company. It gave us the time and space to speak to real customers in the market who helped us refine our commercialisation assumptions. Then, it gave us the capital to build a great team and allow us to take those first vital steps towards success.

Within four years, the company has developed a reputation as one of the global leaders in the development of environmentally sustainable solutions for the rapidly increasing battery industry. When combined, the global sustainability consulting, data, certification, and carbon software markets are expected to grow to $680bn by 2033.

Our market traction efforts during the ICURe programme have successfully retained a culture in our business, and whilst we are pursuing milestones on a number of fronts, we have a very clear view of the market traction goals we wish to achieve over the next five years.

The company is currently seeking a series A round of funding of £7mn to launch its LCA Studio, support its North American expansion, and further build out its certification team in Europe.

Robert would be the first to admit it is still early days, but this rapidly growing deep-tech business is a clear example of what can be achieved whenever a talented entrepreneur receives the support offered by the ICURe programme.
