Based in Bristol, Samuel Graham is a keen cyclist and enjoys using apps to plan and track his routes. However, he grew frustrated with how much they would drain his phone battery, and struggled to find a way to sustainably charge his phone on the go.
Samuel decided to take matters into his own hands. Tapping into his background in engineering and sustainable technologies, he launched Revolv. His first product is a rim-mounted device that uses wheel motion to produce stable, sustainable power capable of charging smartphones.
It’s currently in the product development stage and Samuel is working towards a proof of concept prototype. During the Young Innovators programme, he hopes to learn how to run a product-led business and develop new innovations.
“I have been following the Young Innovators Awards and the #ideasmeanbusiness campaign for some time. I thought it looked like a great opportunity to test my idea and build a valuable skill set and mindset while having fun and meeting other people on the same entrepreneurial journey,” he says.
