With its first fund in 2016, Velocity has become a recognised player in the UK VC ecosystem. Whilst this remains a key component of our value add, the expansion of the team has meant that support is much broader than this. To date, we have invested in over 60 companies, investing over £50m.
What we look for:
- Management – a strong, balanced and motivated management team
- Usefulness – demonstrable demand for the product or service
- Inventiveness – genuine innovation in the product or service
- Scalability – both in the UK and internationally
- Technology – technology is used to their competitive advantage
- High capital appreciation – potential for the delivery of a significant return on exit and a clear path to exit
We look to invest in D2C companies and B2SME companies where customers are acquired online and/or services and technologies that enhance the consumer experience and transmute commerce.
As a consequence, we have invested across a range of sectors including: Fintech, FMCG, Gaming, Health and Wellness, HR Tech, Marketplaces, MedTech, Travel and Web3.
Whilst our core value add remains in support around marketing, our interaction with businesses we invest in is much broader than that, covering fundraising support, FP&A, recruitment and international expansion.
