SCVC is a specialist early-stage investor in UK deep tech companies, focused on startups spinning out of the UK’s world-leading academic institutions. Building the VC firm we wished we had as founders, our mission is to create global impact for the health of people and the planet, via partnering with exceptional technical founders leveraging deep tech.

We invest in advanced technologies from biotech to quantum tech, partnering with companies aligned with our mission to drive category-defining innovation across healthcare and sustainability. We’re a team of deep-tech nerds, exited innovators, scientists & engineers who have backed multiple deep tech spin-outs. We have unique insight into the challenges facing young deep tech companies and bring a hands-on, tailored approach to supporting and mentoring our portfolio companies, focusing on setting them on the best path for growth and success from the outset.

SCVC is the official venture arm of Science Creates; leveraging this renowned UK ecosystem that has already incubated over 125 startups. Science Creates has built two UK deep tech research facilities with a third under construction. Alongside lab space, we support founders via strategic partnerships (UK GOV & universities) and national deep tech accelerator programs.
