Jo Gosling
Knowledge Transfer Manager - European Programmes

The European Programmes team at Innovate UK KTN has a unique reach across major industries, with breadth and depth from high level government organisations to local businesses, both in the UK and internationally. I cover industries and themes included in Horizon Europe Cluster 6 (Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, Aquaculture and Environment) and Cluster 4 (Digital and Space). My role 1) accelerates international collaboration to enable the UK to access EU funding and networking programmes such as Horizon Europe (95.5 billion Euros to 2027), Eurostars and EUREKA and 2) encourages open sharing of data and expertise among businesses, academia and all knowledge actors to solve global issues. Get in touch if you would like application support for any of the programmes mentioned or are looking for project partners.
I have a keen interest in the role that science communication, innovation networks and education play in systems change, having previously led the Wool Community of the Circular Economy Innovation Network and the Sustainable Food Investment Readiness Programme as part of the AgriFood Team. The former in collaboration with the Net-Zero Team, to support the UK wool industry in developing enabling technologies for improved circularity and sustainability. The latter in collaboration with the Investment Team, curating a suite of training resources to prepare 24 companies to deliver investment pitches to investors at an ‘investment showcase’ in London.
Before joining Innovate UK KTN, I managed the BBSRC/NERC national aquaculture network ‘ARCH-UK’ for 5 years from the West Coast of Scotland, producing over 30 workshops, conferences, and training events to increase UK research and innovation capacity and highlight research priorities of the UK farmed finfish and shellfish sector. During this time, I also took a secondment with the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers in Brussels, leading the dissemination and communication work packages of EU Horizon 2020 research projects. I also hold a PhD in fish farm biogeochemistry.
