Knowledge Transfer Manager - Agrifood

Joanna Gosling

As a Knowledge Transfer Manager for AgriFood, I currently work with colleagues across the AgriFood sector to help deliver innovative solutions to industry challenges. I have a cross-cutting role with a broad perspective across all major farming sectors in the UK – extending to accelerating international collaborative research and development.

My previous roles have included leading the Wool Community of the Circular Economy Innovation Network and the Sustainable Food Investment Readiness Programme. The former in collaboration with the Net-Zero Team, to support the UK wool industry in developing enabling technologies for improved circularity and sustainability. The latter in collaboration with the Investment Team, curating a suite of training resources to prepare 24 companies to deliver investment pitches.

Before joining Innovate UK Business Connect, I managed the BBSRC/NERC national aquaculture network ‘ARCH-UK’ for 5 years from the West Coast of Scotland, producing workshops, conferences, and training events to increase UK research and innovation capacity and highlight research priorities of the UK farmed finfish and shellfish sector. During this time, I also took a secondment with the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers in Brussels, leading the dissemination and communication work packages of EU Horizon 2020 research projects. I also hold a PhD in fish farm biogeochemistry.
