Financing Net Zero: Capital to Climate event series
The Innovate UK Financing Net Zero programme tackles the urgent need for increased private investment in climate tech.
This initiative supports innovation and investment to help the UK achieve its Net Zero goals while unlocking economic benefits associated with the green transition. As we face a critical moment for climate action, accelerating investment is key to both environmental progress and the growth of the UK’s green economy.
Why we launched this event series
We identified several key challenges we could tackle in accelerating investment by:
- Informing investors about the extensive range of climate investment opportunities and bridging the gap between current investment levels and sector potential.
- Increasing deal flow by directly connecting investors with promising companies
- Enhancing investment readiness for climate tech companies.
- Addressing both demand and supply challenges in the innovation landscape.
In response, Innovate UK, in collaboration with Climate Connection, developed the Capital to Climate event series. This series is designed to inspire and connect stakeholders by highlighting emerging climate topics and integrating various aspects of the capital stack.
How the series works
The Capital to Climate series operates in tandem:
- Capital to Climate: These in-person events in London provide a comprehensive overview of specific climate tech sectors, sparking investor interest and offering prime networking opportunities for industry experts and investors to connect and collaborate.
- Investors Showcases: Held regionally, these events allow investors to engage directly with company founders in a ‘speed networking’ format, facilitating agile and effective connections.
Delivered with Climate Connection (Capital to Climate) and Carbon Limiting Technologies (Investors Showcase), these events offer interactive sessions, deep learning opportunities, discussion groups, and networking with industry experts.
