Open Innovation (OI)
Global Alliance Africa is a six-year project designed to strengthen and scale local innovation and business environments in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. Open Innovation is one of the interventions for this programme.

Our Innovation Exchange platform brings together Challenge Holders and Solution Providers to solve technical problems via the Innovation Exchange process. This is a quick and easy way to find suitable partners, comprising:
- Challenge translation – turning the problem into a brief to be solved
- Competition – 6-8 week open competition promoted by Innovate UK KTN
- Solution selection – detailed assessment, shortlisting and pitching of solutions
- Relationship building – the winning applicant agrees the scope of their pilot project
- Technology development – 6-12 month pilot project to develop and test the solution
